SolarPoweredWaterPumps.com is a practical reference for people moving water without a power line: ranchers watering stock on far pastures, homesteaders and cabin owners on wells, market gardeners running drip, and pond owners. Its core is sizing, done in the open: every figure the calculator gives is accompanied by the arithmetic that produced it.
Who writes it
The site is written and maintained by the editors of SolarPoweredWaterPumps.com. We are a small editorial team, not engineers of record and not pump installers. Where a figure comes from a public dataset or publication (NREL, USDA, NDSU Extension, the Federal Register) we cite it on the page. Where it comes from a formula, we show the formula.
What we will not do
- Claim to have tested products we have not tested. Product specifications on this site are the merchant's own.
- State a price we did not read on the merchant's own site, or leave one up without the date we read it.
- Let a commercial relationship change a figure. See our affiliate disclosure.
- Collect more than we need. The only form on the site is the contact form; Google Analytics, added 18 October 2026, runs under the choices described in our privacy policy, with advertising features off.
Corrections
If a figure is wrong, a link is dead or a rule has changed, tell us through the contact form. We fix errors and date the change.

SolarPoweredWaterPumps.com is owned by Silicon Valley Ventures, which also publishes SolarPanelCosts.com and Landholder, among other reference sites.
